![]() Believe all of the things you have read in the other reviews about Ed Hamrick. I am not a young guy so this is saying a lot. This guy is Ed Hamrick creator of Vuescan. This review is all about the biggest a-hole that i have ever had to deal with. No sense repeating comments about Hammick submitted to this and other forum.I am not even going to bother reviewing the software here. Briefly, Hammick is not a people-person, totally lacking anything even closely related to customer relations skills. With a career in the technology sector, as well as being technically proficient from that extensive experience, Hammick's curt, unprofessional and bellicose replies to ours and others' valid (Hammick, WE, the users, ahhh.your CUSTOMERS0 can't know your product as you SHOULD) questions are anything but just that.professional. This guy does not belong in a business where he has to deal (read: communicate, Ed) with businesses, consumers, etc. With this person's poor relationship skills, we asked one another how long will Hammick support his products, how long will he remain in business? To summarize, Hammick's attitude is from that long-gone, passe genre of technically proficient who feel that by treating customers' valid questions (product support, clarity, etc.) with incivility, disdain elevates his superiority and it does just that, imply a superiority complex (psych definition: hides feelings of inferiority and failure). I wish I could give a negative star count for this product. Vuescan reviews serial number#Īfter purchasing VueScan, I never received a receipt through email or any other way to access the payment serial number and other information necessary to activate the product. VueScan offers a digital form you can use to retrieve this information after your purchase, but the form wasn't working for me for some reason. My customer support email experience to Ed Hamrick was startling. After my first email explaining that the form wasn't working for me, I was sent a link to the exact same form which I had previously explained wasn't working. My second email tried to clarify that point, and I was again sent the form. After my third email in which I asked for a direct reply, Ed Hamrick replied "That's just an obnoxious reply - of course I'm human." Not taking the bait, I responded, "Sorry Ed, can you help me with my problem retrieving my invoice info so I can register VueScan?" to which Ed responded "No, if you can't get it using the online form, how do you expect me to?" Comical at best.the worst customer service I have ever encountered. My scanner works fine on the dinosaur computer running Windows XP I keep only to use this scanner. I want to be able to use it on my newer computer running Windows 10 and Vuescan is hyped up as being able to do that. It doesn't work even though the computer recognizes the scanner but but can't run it due to not having any driver. Through multiple back and forth emails all I got from Hamrick was "reinstall the software" try a different cable" try a different port" and finally "the scanner must be broken". I uninstalled and reinstalled numerous times, tried different cables and ports and made it clear the scanner works fine in Windows XP but still his moronic conclusion was the scanner is broken. Perhaps someone with knowledge of the product could have figured out what the problem was or who would admit that it doesn't work on my model scanner. It's always obvious when tech support does nothing but tell you to do the things you have already told them you've done numerous times that they're not knowledgeable about the product. The guy had absolutely nothing worthwhile to offer other than the very basics of reinstalling and changing ports, a grade school kid could be taught to say those things. Clearly the rave reviews are for different devices or maybe they're not real. The big problem I have is not so much that it doesn't work because I downloaded the trail version, I wasn't about to pay for something without knowing it works. ![]() The big issue is the worst tech support ever, the guy had no clue and was just rattling off the scripted solutions which he had already been told didn't work.
